I have been able to witness both training and games over the last 8 weeks and it is evident that our KFJ players are making rapid progress due to the comprehensive training (2x, 3x per week) and the professionalism of our coaching staff.

Big times at the new Lynn Soccer Stadium on the Campus of the University of Louisville!
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the second time in her career, Illinois Wesleyan junior defender Mary Kate Schmidt was named the "Defensive Player of the Week" for women's soccer in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Former Fire Forward and now Spalding University forward Baylee Tabler has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Allison Whitfield, a member of the Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) '98 (rising u17) Girls Team, was recently named the 2013-14 Girls Player of the Year by Kentucky Youth Soccer. Allison was a vital part of her team's 2014 Kentucky State Cup Championship and 3rd Place finish in the MRL Premier Division. Last February (2014), she was also named to the Region II ODP Team that competed in an international tournament in Costa Rica.

On Wednesday, October 15 the KFJ Girls program took an evening away form training so that they could take in the University of Louisville women's soccer game at the beautiful new Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
The KFJ u12 Girls won 2nd place in their division at the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Fall Festival, Oct. 11-12. They played some tough competition from Kansas City, Indiana and from our own city of Louisville.
Shannon MacMillan played for the United States Women's National team. She played an integral part in helping the USA win a Gold medal in the 1996 Olympics and the 1999 Women's World Cup.
The Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) had another stellar weekend in both Bowling Green and Elizabethtown, Kentucky, with a total of 21 boys and girls competing in the 2014 Kentucky State Open Cup, hosted May 24-26. Of the 21 total teams competing in the preliminary (group) stages of the Kentucky State Open Cup, a record 19 KFJ teams advanced to the semi-final round of competition, to be hosted May 31!
