The Fall season is in full swing now with league play, tournaments and training. I have been able to witness both training and games over the last 8 weeks and it is evident that our KFJ players are making rapid progress due to the comprehensive training (2x, 3x per week) and the professionalism of our coaching staff.

Big times at the new Lynn Soccer Stadium on the Campus of the University of Louisville!
Allison Whitfield, a member of the Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) '98 (rising u17) Girls Team, was recently named the 2013-14 Girls Player of the Year by Kentucky Youth Soccer. Allison was a vital part of her team's 2014 Kentucky State Cup Championship and 3rd Place finish in the MRL Premier Division. Last February (2014), she was also named to the Region II ODP Team that competed in an international tournament in Costa Rica.
Shannon MacMillan played for the United States Women's National team. She played an integral part in helping the USA win a Gold medal in the 1996 Olympics and the 1999 Women's World Cup.
The Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) had another stellar weekend in both Bowling Green and Elizabethtown, Kentucky, with a total of 21 boys and girls competing in the 2014 Kentucky State Open Cup, hosted May 24-26. Of the 21 total teams competing in the preliminary (group) stages of the Kentucky State Open Cup, a record 19 KFJ teams advanced to the semi-final round of competition, to be hosted May 31!
The U17 Boys Kentucky Fire Juniors Premier team has won the Midwest Regional League First Division East Red with a perfect record of 6-0. The boys finished the league with a goal differential of +15, scoring 19 goals in six games while only conceding four.
Congratulations Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) Players and Coaches on your outstanding performances at both the President’s Cup and Soccer Village Cup that took place May 17-18, 2014. Our Club had a record number of wins at both events and we continue to play a brand of soccer which is designed to help our players perform at a high level.
Last month Logan Barber (U13G) competed with the 2000 Regional team at the Javanon Cup in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The Regional team went undefeated and beat the Javanon 99 Club team in the final to finish in first place.
