Fire Juniors Elite Female Player ID Program
What is the Elite Female Player ID camp?
The ID camp is part of a wider initiative to raise the standards of female soccer in Fire Juniors clubs. Devised by Fire Juniors coaches for female Fire Juniors players, the program aims to identify the most elite female performers in the ten Fire Juniors clubs and place them in a professional training camp environment before selecting the top talent to participate in a number of high level female soccer tournaments and events. The program has 3 stages:
Stage 1 Player Identification: Chicago Fire SC technical staff at Toyota Park will work closely with Fire Juniors Directors of Coaching to identify the top female soccer players in the following age groups: U13, U14, U15, U16 & U17
Stage 2 Elite Player ID Camp: Fire Juniors female players will be invited to attend a 3-day training camp at Lake Forest Academy from Thursday, June 27 to Sunday, June 30, 2013. Players will participate in a series of practice sessions led by U.S. Soccer staff and 1st team coaching staff from the Fire. Off the field, players will attend a collection of college placement, mental preparation and hydration/nutrition workshops.
Stage 3 Elite Player Selection: Technical staff will use the ID camp to identify the top talent from each age group to represent FIRE JUNIORS ELITE SC. Between 20-24 players from each age group will be selected to participate in a number of signature tournament events which include DISNEY JUNIOR SHOWCASE, Orlando FL (U13 & U14) and MAYORS CUP INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT, Las Vegas, NV (U15 & U16).
