Allison Whitfield Named 2013-14 Girls Player of the Year!

Allison Whitfield, a member of the Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) '98 (rising u17) Girls Team, was recently named the 2013-14 Girls Player of the Year by Kentucky Youth Soccer. Allison was a vital part of her team's 2014 Kentucky State Cup Championship and 3rd Place finish in the MRL Premier Division. Last February (2014), she was also named to the Region II ODP Team that competed in an international tournament in Costa Rica.

Allison is an attacking player who excels at taking on defenders and creating goal-scoring chances for herself and for her teammates. She has spent her entire Club career with KFJ, which was formally known as Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club (MVSC). She has three sisters, all of whom are involved with the Kentucky Fire Juniors as players and/or coaches. Allison's oldest sister, Casey Whitfield, played for the (formally MVSC) '93 Girls Team and is currently coaching with the Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex (MV Sports Complex) Youth Recreational Soccer Program and the Kentucky Fire Juniors Select Soccer Program. Allison's next oldest sister, Maddie Whitfield, played for the (formally MVSC) '95 Girls Team, and is currently coaching with the MV Sports Complex Youth Recreational Soccer Program and the KFJ Select Soccer Program. The youngest Whitfield sister, Tess, currently plays for the KFJ '00 Girls Team. Allison is starting her junior year at Manual High School and is currently heavily involved in the recruiting process to play collegiate soccer.

On behalf of the entire Kentucky Fire Juniors Staff, we want to congratulate Allison on this fantastic achievement for which we could not be more proud of her work on the field to warrant this award, and how she represents KFJ on and off the field.
