FIRE Report: 11 August 2014

WELCOME & THANK YOU!

On behalf of the entire Kentucky Fire Juniors Staff, we would like to welcome all of our membership back for the 2014/2015 season. We are excited for the new families that have joined our club and looking forward to another fantastic season. We have added a lot of quality players and coaches to program and confident that KFJ will continue to improve. Thank you for your continued support of the club!

PRE-SEASON CAMP PRESENTED BY DUTCH TOUCH

The KFJ pre-season camp (July 28-31) presented by Dutch Touch, went off as a huge success. Over 80 KFJ players, ages U9-U14, participated in the camp. Jan Pruijn, who runs Ajax Cape Town in South Africa, directed the camp which was staffed by several members of the current KFJ coaching staff. The club is planning to make the camp an annual event.

THE SEASON HAS STARTED

Several KFJ teams started their season this past weekend with league and tournament games. The U14 Girls Classic Team competed at the Westside United Invitational in Indiana on August 9th and 10th. Five of our U9 and U10 boys’ teams played league games in the KASL while our U10 Girls Premier Team also started its KASL season. The U12 – U14 Girls, as well as the U14 Boys, all travel to Chicago on August 16 and 17 to compete in the Quakers Cup, hosted by the Chicago Fire Juniors. The event features many of the Chicago Fire affiliates from across the Midwest.
